How I Differentiate From Other Interior Designers

An eclectic, adaptable interior blending styles, reflecting Kimberly Gibson's client-led approach

A lot of times, during a consultation, a potential client will ask me what my style is. Equally as frequent, other designers will refer clients to me because the client doesn't match their style.

This has always confused me.

I specialize in being adaptable to the clients needs and style. I'm not going to live in the space that I create for them, and my happiness quite literally depends on their happiness. If someone picks a color I wouldn't choose for my own home, great! I get to explore something new. If someone loves to be eclectic, while that's not normally my cup of tea, I'm happy for them! Knowing what they like, and being able to communicate it to me is all I ask of my clients. The rest is up to me to deliver.

I find that going outside of my comfort zone is when I push myself and when I learn. If all of the homes and offices I designed were the same, how fun would that be?! Exploring new ideas keeps things fresh and innovative and ensures that I'm holding up my end of the deal - giving my clients a space they will love!

If there's an idea I don't think will work well in the space, either logistically or because it won't be cohesive, then I will guide and educate my clients and present other options that could have a similar outcome to achieve the goal they're after.

Especially in times like we're currently experiencing, being adaptable is key. When nothing is certain, anything is possible!

Let's design a home you'll love coming back to.
