Remodeled compact kitchen with blue-gray flat-panel cabinets, butcher-block counters, white subway tile with dark grout and a striped multicolor plank floor, designed by Kimberly Gibson

The brief

We refinished the cabinets in a cool blue-gray, warmed them with butcher-block counters, and ran white subway tile with dark grout for graphic contrast. A striped multicolor plank floor grounds the room with personality, wall-mounted magnetic spice jars free up counter space, and matte-black hardware, a spring-style faucet and navy leather barstools finish the industrial look.
